The Applied Cognitive Research Lab (ACRL) is dedicated to developing, exploring, and disseminating  cognitive tools that can enhance learning, thinking, and communication.  The tools cover a range of activities, including scripts to guide collaboration, maps to express ideas, board games to increase motivation and self-esteem, and visualization / meditation strategies to relax and focus the mind.  We are committed to extending these tools into several arenas, including academic and technical education, substance abuse treatment, and business activities. 

With a 25-year history, the ACRL ( “Dansereau Lab”)  will continue to match graduate student research interests with ongoing efforts in the lab, and to use controlled studies on campus to inform field studies.  The lab has been the catalyst for the development of the TCU Psychological Engineering Group (TCU_PEG), and will continue to support this group, with the hope that involving interested research individuals from a variety of different university departments – and the community --  will enrich the research efforts of all concerned.
